Only a few days into the year and it’s already being a good one. New songs are getting great reception and I’ve been hit up by more DJ’s and radio shows for tracks to play in the last couple of days than I ever could have hoped. I’ll actually be doing a guest spot on The Welfare Clinic radio show over here in Ireland which goes out across the internet next Wednesday at midnight…the dubbing hour. I’ve line up some really fantastic tracks from a variety of artists, so if you feel like listening in, just go to http://www.raidionalife.com next week!

Now then, on to the new tracks!

    Reservoir Dubs

    Ugmo

    so down low

    Gilgamesh

Brainstorm is a creative collaborative group first started in 98 as a sort of mock corporation to produce audio/video/image projects on a very indie scale. In 2003 there was enough material to make http://www.brainstormlab.org and gradually more and more people from different countries wanted to collaborate and contribute. although it’s changed a lot since the beginning the basic concept is always the same – if you don’t have a space to put out your work, make your own.

Below you will find the latest release,  this release is already their 24th.

Dubit – The Three Necks And Sea EP A very warm release, Coming from a minimal techno background with dub influences, Dubit mixes synthesis and foley recordings in this 4 track EP, sifting from soundscapes to dub and slightly more frenetic glitch-based electronica. To hear more from Dubit visit his Myspace The cover is made by illustrator Giuliano Sacco

Of course there is more, most of the release are free to download so I selected my favorite.

Meet Alecek: Born in Bulgaria Alexansder ‘Alecek’ Ivanoiv defiantly knows how to build a nice track! Now 22 years old, Alecek got involved with sound 7 years ago, at first he started creating beats with his mouth and later on he started using FL studio. After 2-3 years he switched to Nuenndo. His mayor musical influence is Hip-Hop, mainly because of the large variety within this style. Because of this he became interested in more genre’s and started experimenting with his beats. The music he produces nowadays is a nice mixture of Hip-Hop, Dub, Ambient, Glitch, Breakbeat and Midtempo. Alecek is also working an a Trip-Hop project together with a friend (Tripaf).

Check out some of his work below!

For those who don’t know the label Eat Concrete jet:

Eat Concrete is an independent music label founded in 2006 by Pete Concrete. The label has strong roots in the Dutch ‘electronics scene’ but has quickly developed from a local network into an international platform of like-minded artists.

The label is influenced and inspired by a wide spectrum of musicians, producers and styles. By combining and connecting a great variety of music Eat Concrete creates it’s own style and a context for music to thrive in.

After a series of groundbreaking and critically acclaimed projects Eat Concrete has shown itself to be one of the most progressive and original recordlabels in new electronic music; No-nonsense, straight-up and to the point, but also open-minded and free spirited.

Besides their great releases Eat concrete also offers some nice free to download sets:

    Aardvarck – Robin Hood mix
Aardvarck brings you summer, soul, sweet romance and funky electronics with this ‘Robin Hood’ set. His signature cut and paste mixing combined with lot’s of humor makes this a lively and adventurous, somewhat laidback ride into better times where the sun always shines.

    ATeeze – Recorded @ Freakkunk 2
ATeeze started playing early this evening at Amsterdam’s OT301. Beginning with downtempo, soulful electronics and hiphop he gradually works into more to the floor music.

Pete Concrete - This aint no dubsteppin’
No dubstep indeed..Still a nice experimental, ‘dubby’ mix, going in all directions. Recorded live at Area51 skatepark.
