Describing music is hard.
It’s not really our fault so much as language itself limits our capacity to reign in the nuance of composed sound. And it is because of this murky gap between the word and the tones that we often find ourselves reduced to clumsy comparative descriptions (“sounds like a cross between burial and pink floyd”) or knee deep in a thesaurus so we can say “emotive” in 17 affectional, affective, heartwarming, moving, stirring, touching ways.
All this is fine and good. I mean, without these sorts of contrivances how would Boomkat be able to tell me what to buy?
But skipping this sort of textual excess is what – for me – makes soundcloud so amazing. Instead of tripping over my words i can just say “so and so is killing it”, drop a link, and wait for you – dear reader – to nod.
So without further ado…. these two artists – Roof Light and Actraiser – are killing it. top-notch post-garage deepness from both.
Roof Light
Actraiser
This is the part where you nod.
Cheers!
